This itinerary is intended for those who are keen to see Vietnam?s major places of interest but have limited time. The 8-day journey features the green and riverine world of the Mekong Delta, the vibrant of Saigon in contrast to the romance and peacefulness of Hue, the Imperial City of the 18th and 19th centuries, the mystical Cham holy land of My Son, the quaint town of Hoi An, the imaginary world of Halong Bay and finally the image of both the new and the old city of Hanoi.
DAY 1: HANOI - ARRIVAL (D)
Welcome to Hanoi , transfer of 45 minutes to your hotel in town. Check in and take a rest after journey. Afternoon, getting out to visit our Hanoi which including: the Temple of Literature – known as the country’s first national university; the macabre Hoa Lo Prison, the French built this prison near the turn of the century, with construction completed in 1901. The name Hoa Lo, means "portable earthen stove," and originates from the families who used to live on the land before the French built on it; Vietnam Women’s Museum – which is focused on the contribution of women to Vietnam's history and culture, this museum highlights their roles in Vietnam's many military conflicts as well as in commerce, including features on female street vendors, women's role in the family, and more recently, single mothers in Vietnam. Join the historical orientation cycling hours through the Old Quarter, delving into the nooks and crannies of the city and bringing us to a restored original Old Quarter homes. Enjoy dinner at one of the best Vietnamese cuisine restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.
DAY 2: HANOI – HALONG BAY (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we leave Hanoi for the World’s Heritage of Halong Bay. Upon arrival, welcome aboard and set sail through bay while lunch is served. Passage into the magical bay, where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from the waves like dragons’ teeth. After lunch, take a short trek to a nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay dotted with golden sails, go swimming on a quite beach or sunbathing on the sundeck. Later afternoon, visit an interesting fishing village with opportunity to interact with fishermen who have been living in the bay for almost three generations. Back on board and enjoy cocktails while watching sunset and later unwind at restaurant for a lavish dinner.
DAY 3: HALONG - HANOI - HUE ( B/L)
Morning enjoy the sunrise, that would be great picture as it is raising up from the ocean and through the peaks of the limestone islands. Cruise back to Ha Long City. Brunch on boat while cruising. Disembark and drive back Hanoi. Take the evening flight to Hue. Welcome and transfer to hotel for checking in. Overnight in Hue.
4: HUE – DANANG - HOIAN (B/L)
Driving to visit the Imperial Citadel - situated on the Northern bank of the Perfume River, with an area of 500 ha and a system of three circles of ramparts, namely from outside to inside: Kinh Thanh (Capital Citadel), Hoang Thanh (Royal Citadel) and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden Citadel). The Citadel stared in 1805 under the reign of Emperor Gia Long and completed in 1832 under the reign of Emperor Ming Mang. Under Nguyen’s reign, Kings have ordered to build ramparts, palaces and constructional works of royal. Over 200 years to now, it is still original with nearly 140 small and large constructions. Our visit continued to Thien Mu pagoda - built in 1601 between a river and a pine forest, the Thien Mu Pagoda is one of the oldest and prettiest religious buildings in the country. Move the steps to Minh Mang’s, this tomb is well known for its harmonious blend of architecture and natural landscape. We take a driving via Hai Van Pass, passing through many pretty red-tiled villages with fruit orchards, enjoying spectacular views of sky and sea .....to get Hoian. Hoian check in on arrival. Overnight in Hoian.
DAY 5: HOIAN walking tour (B/L)
Morning, we take a walking tour in Hoian Ancient town that was a prosperous trading port between 17th & 19th centuries. Today, this world Heritage –listed town boasts well-preserved buildings, pedestrian streets and unique cuisine, allowing visitors a glimpse of its illustrious past. Visit the old merchant’s house with influences from Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, the Assembly Hall of the Chaozhou Chinese Congregation with outstanding wood carvings. Followed by a boat trip on Thu Bon River before getting back our hotel. Overnight in Hoian.
DAY 6: HOIAN – DANANG – SAIGON (B/L)
Morning flight to Saigon. Meet our person and drive to the town for touring the War Remnants Museum which presents a partial, but riveting, view of the American Was, as it is known in Vietnam; Reunification Palace, former residence of the Indochina Governor General and later President of the Republic of Southern Vietnam until the fall of Saigon in April 30, 1975 and the Notre Dame Cathedral, an impressive neo-Romanesque cathedral in the centre of city. Drive to hotel for check in after touring. The rest is at leisure. Overnight in Saigon.
DAY 7: CU CHI TUNNELS (B/L)
Breakfast at hotel. Journey out of the city centre to the Cu Chi regions, where you will visit the vast underground network of tunnels built first as a defence against the French, and later expanded during the American war. It was from here that the North Vietnamese waged their guerrilla warfare and you will marvel at their ingenuity and resilience. See secret trapdoors, underground kitchens, living areas and meeting rooms. The more adventurous may explore the deeper second, and even third level tunnels. For those preferring to remain above ground, there is ample opportunity to view excavated areas from above. Get back the city for having lunch. Overnight in Saigon.
DAY 8: SAIGON – MY THO – BEN TRE – CAN THO ( B/L)
Morning, driving southwest of Saigon to the Mekong Delta which is known as the rice bowl of Vietnam. Ben Tre is one of the closest provinces in the Delta where you will have time to discover the peaceful Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, take a boat for a cruise along islets and tropical orchards. Cruise through the canal of Vam Xep to reach a small islet. A relaxing walk along shady and pal, fringed trails will take you through the local villages where you will grasp the glimpses of daily life. Stop en route to sip special tea with honey, sample fruits with a local family and share their stories of life the Mekong. They will guide you on a walk through their orchard and explain how tropical fruits are grown. Then continue the journey with a paddle on a sampan through the narrow tree-lined canals of the River. Enjoy lunch at the islet then visit handicraft villages, a coconut candy factory before transferring to Can Tho for overnight.
DAY 9: CAN THO – SAIGON (B/L)
After breakfast, get on a local boat to explore the colorful Cai Rang floating market where a number of boats laden with fruit, vegetables and fish jostle for trade. Sellers ‘advertise their wares by crying out across the waters of tie their goods to a tall pole so that buyers can see recognize from distance. Get back the quay and we head to Binh Thuy Ancient house for returning Saigon for another night.
DAY 10: SAIGON – DEPARTURE (B)
Time at leisure until transferring to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for departure.
